Why I am running for

Councilmember At-Large...

I am running for City Councilmember At-Large because I care deeply for the welfare of the citizens of Oakland.

I have consistently demonstrated my care and concern by focusing my attention on building a better Oakland.  My 13 years as a volunteer in the community has given me the opportunity to strengthen communities one at a time.  I am constantly working to teach community residents that it’s extremely important to become involved!

Volunteering for 13 years has given me the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to be an outstanding Councilmember At-Large.
I have experience working with...

  • Neighborhood Crime Prevention Councils
  • Faith Communities
  • Nonprofit Organizations
  • City/County Boards and Commissions
  • Councilmembers
  • Board of Supervisors
  • Law Enforcement
  • & Other Branches of Government

No project has been out of reach or impossible.  I am proud to say I have "Built Bridges, Not Walls" between the communities in the most underserved areas of Oakland.

I am proof that one dedicated person with the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities can make a difference!

I am proud to say I am a bridge builder and have demonstrated commitment to Public Service throughout the city.  During the past seven years I have been honored with the following recognitions:

  • 2007 - 2008 California Senior Leadership Award
  • Alameda County Board of Supervisors Commendation
  • West Oakland Senior Center Good Neighbor Award
  • East Oakland Senior Center Award of Appreciation
  • Neighborhood Law Corp Citizen of the Year
  • Martin Luther King, Jr. First Humanitarian Award
  • Oakland Black Officers Association 2000 Citizen of the Year

I might be last on your ballot but your vote for Frank Rose on June 3, 2008, will give you a first class Councilmember At-Large!

...Frank Rose
